Rocket man

I was just listening to Elton John sing "Rocket man" and couldn't help but laugh when he said he missed his wife. Has he actually ever been married? I just looked up in wikipedia to find out, and turns out his middle name is "Hercules". You crack me up, Herc. Okay, looks like he was married in 1984 for a few years. My bad. Here's a picture of his wedding day. Ha ha. Anyway, I really like Elton John. His music is amazing. And I'm pretty sure he likes me too. Ok, I'll stop. Seriously, though, I do like his music.
Good thing the girls were gone on Sunday, because we were just about the only house on our block that didn't have any power! This was way after it rained, so I don't know what actually caused it, but I looked out the window and what do I see? Popcorn popping on the apricot tree. I also see that my neighbors have power! Of course! There's not much to do when you don't have electricity. I didn't want to open the fridge because I had no idea when the power would get turned on, I couldn't cook anything because our stove is electric, and I couldn't read because for me to see the words, the candle would have to be in my face. I went on a walk, hoping to see others in the same predicament that I was in (I'm such a nice guy!), went to El Chico to eat since I didn't want to eat potato chips for dinner, and then I pretty much stared at the wall until the power came back on. At least I THINK I was staring at the wall. It was dark so I couldn't tell. The funny thing is that I kept thinking to myself that having the power off for six hours kept me from getting anything done. Then I think of what I would have done if the power had been on the whole time, and it would pretty much have been the same thing, except I would have been staring at the TV instead of the wall. And I definitely would not have gone on a walk. So I guess having the power turned off was a good thing, assuming that exercise is good. Has that been actually proven? I'm a little skeptical.

Spoiler Alert!

Final Harry Potter Book Blasted For Containing Spoilers
July 27, 2007

NEW YORK—Harry Potter fans throughout the world were shocked, disappointed, and outraged to learn last week that J.K. Rowling's 750-page novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, blatantly reveals every looming question in the 10-year-long saga, even going so far as to divulge the what happens to key characters 20 years into the future.
"The whole experience is completely ruined for me," said 25-year-old fan Ethan Clay, adding that the book would build up suspense, and then, without warning, give away vital, plot-altering information. "The least [Rowling] could have done was put a spoiler alert or something on the front cover."

rain rain go away, come again after we get a pool cover and at night when we're sleeping

Freakin rain. Every time I get the pool to where it needs to be it rains. It's not supposed to mess up the water, but it seems like it does. Maybe it rains algae. It looks like rain right now outside my window of distraction at work. I wanted to go swimming today, too. We need some better pool toys, I think. Bella gets so excited to go swimming, but I think she gets bored in there by herself. Usually I'm in there with her, but I'm doing something else like cleaning the pool. She likes to help with that, but it's not really helping. She'll take the brush, dip it in the water, and then start sweeping the deck and getting crap in the pool in the process. Can't get mad at her, though. She likes to help in her own little way. I have to come up with a good halloween costume for her. Halloween is my favorite holiday because of all the candy. giving out raisins and/or Bible passages to trick-or-treaters should be against the law. not to mention those nasty little sixlets...and bit-o-honey...cheapo people. I guess I can't say much, though. When we buy Halloween candy we eat all the good stuff and give out the nasty stuff but that's not the point. Halloween is close to my birthday so I should get what I want. tootsie rolls are nasty, too. you should avoid eating poop and anything that resembles poop. maybe that's why I prefer hard candy over chocolate. anyway, back to my point (I think I had one). oh yeah, costumes. I want to do something with Bella's crazy hair, so I'm thinking bride of Frankenstein, Medusa, little orphan annie, Don King (not really), or maybe that dude from Twisted Sister. Dee Snider...that's his name. Thank you wikipedia. I guess I shouldn't make my daughter dress up like a dude, though. I'm leaning towards bride of frankenstein.

I'm not looking at anything imparticular for aubree. She should probably be a screaming banshee, based on her recent yelling habit. I think she just likes to hear her own voice. or maybe it's to get on everyone's nerves. I know it bothers bella sometimes, like when she's trying to watch "dogs" (102 dalmations for the 102nd time). Note to self: put together a pro/con list for getting a dog. When I say dog, I don't mean just any dog, either. I don't want some cockapoo shih tzu mutt. Now that I write that, I think if we get a dog, I'll name it Cockapooshihtzu. It's just a type of dog, right? No wait, Cockashihtzupoo. That's better. Cockashihtzupoo Wojciechowski, Esquire.

Months that begin with FEB

What do the numbers 8, 65, and 211 have in common? They are all my highscores for Minesweeper. It's been a mini-addiction of mine lately. Much more important than work. Speaking of work, I had blackened Mahi Mahi with Diablo sauce yesterday for lunch. Very good fish. Like I always say, the best tasting food is free food.
